The new Astronomical & Meteorological Controller from Showtools® LAB makes a rational use of energy resources through the intelligent management of processes, oriented towards increasing productivity based on the photoperiod; the improvement in the hygrothermal comfort of homes, offices and other buildings; provides assisted sun protection; optimizes energy consumption used in lighting and air conditioning; respect the environment.


PROGRAMS


The Showtools® LAB Astronomical and Meteorological Controller provides the necessary characteristics to facilitate, according to each need, the automation of opening and closing of motorized curtains and blinds in residential buildings, offices, industrial, commercial, government, educational, etc. Increasing thus, the benefit through a greater use of caloric sources and natural lighting, and its consequent effects produced.



The design concept of the Control System is based on the use of a natural environment such as the Sun to regulate the conditions of light and temperature indoors, reducing in turn the environmental impact, optimized by reducing consumption. For this, our solution has a wide variety of programs that are easily adjusted to each need.


SOLAR


From sunrise to sunset, the trajectory [apparent movement] of the sun with respect to the earth is calculated in real time using the so-called True Solar Time. Second by second the Astronomical & Meteorological Controller compares the current position of the sun with the parameters established for the automatic control of: curtains and blinds; actuation of valves for the control of flow in AA [Air Conditioning] ducts; integration of hybrid solar energy systems [passive and active], among others.



The algorithms used by the Astronomical and Meteorological Controller are based on the development of various scientific grade equations, such as formulations from NOAA [Office of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration] Scientific Agency of the United States Department of Commerce.


The essential data for correct operation such as geopositioning and time zone [UTC Zone] can both be entered manually, as their ingestion can come from the GPS, GLONASS and GALILEO satellite constellations, which will provide the date and time data with great accuracy; further maximizing the effectiveness of the optional module for Solar Tracking control.


METEOROLOGICAL


By connecting to a worldwide network of meteorological stations or linked to the physical Backup station on site, meteorological data is captured by the Astronomical & Meteorological Controller for the execution of programmed actions. Both the opening and closing of motorized blinds or curtains and other processes may or may not be associated with external climatic conditions, depending on the need.


Site-specific weather conditions such as Temperature, Relative Ambient Humidity, Atmospheric Pressure, Wind and UV Radiation Index are available; from which the processes act for efficient intelligent control.


SOLAR TRACKER


A solar tracker is a device capable of following the apparent path of the sun throughout the day. Applied mainly to solar panels or modules for the generation of thermal or photovoltaic energy, thus maximizing their performance.


The Astronomical & Meteorological Controller system generates the data necessary to control the Solar Tracker with high precision; based on scientific grade equations and complemented by a set of sensors and actuators that provide even greater reliability.


SCALABILITY


Thanks to the processing power of the Core Q-SYS ™, a single processor can control several sites simultaneously and remotely via the network, optimizing start-up costs, also facilitating its administration and security in IT terms.
